Initially, I paid a visit to Willow Lake for a one day/night experience before I brought the kids for an upcoming weekend together. I enjoyed the first night so much I stayed for 2 more days. The 3 days for my stay was from Tues -Thurs August 3-5. Then I brought my three kids 16, 10, and 7 for Sat & Sun. The campground is rustic with modern amenities. My only suggestion for an extended stay for tent campers, bring a solor shower bladder. The water in showers is a bit harsh, with chlorine...I think. Other than that, a nice swimming lake, site facilities, met some great people. Saturday night is adult night, but nothing out of control that concerned me with regard to the safety of my kids. I highly recommend Willow Lake for the diehard or enthusiasts camper/ RV'ER -Matt D. USMC (Ret.)
Not necessarily a bad thing. Our visit was quiet, we met a few nice campers, too. Our price for the night was $40, which we felt was high. The people were very friendly, however. The site (18) wasn't bad, however, it was muddy, but there were storms the week before, so I guess it couldn't have been helped. They charged for showers. $ .50/5 minutes. Only one was working in the woman's facility. Wi-Fi was slow, but acceptable. Proximity was fairly close to places in Brunswick, which worked for visiting friends.
We happened upon this little place on our way north. What we found was an owner and her staff that were very accommodating and while not your run of the mill glamping spot, it was fabulous. Brought back so many memories of my childhood camping experience. I could only give this 3 stars because for $42 a night we would have expected a few more amenities. It did have 50 amp but it was a shared pole and when the RV next to us plugged in it blew the breaker. There is no sewer, cable or WiFi (except at the pavilion). Our last night here was the annual Halloween trick or treating night. So nice to see places that still do this. Every child that came by, and there were MANY, said thank you. It was so nice to see children being raised to be so respectful. It did my heart good!
Come to visit Willow Lake Campground in Geneva Ohio and take advantage of our shaded and open overnight sites, 70 wooded acres, stocked fishing lake and swimming lake. Visit the nearby summer resort town of Geneva-on-the-Lake which offers many attractions ideally suited for younger fmaily members..
