Excellent park

Very, very nice park. Stayed here over a weekend. Lake was drawn down due to time of year, but park was absolutely beautiful w plenty to do. All pads were nice, and all were paved. Saw lots of wildlife (deer mostly). I will definitely be visiting this area, and park, again.
We're the roads coming in bad as others have stated? Yes. But it's not a park problem. I'm sure they weren't built for the big rig traffic. Don't let this stop you from visiting this beautiful park.

Very nice park
By user-5259810... on 2017-10-23.
This is our second trip here and we will continue to come back. The sites are nice with fire pits, tables, and grills. Many sites are lake front. Excellent scenery for hiking and there is also a disc golf course. The only downside is the road coming in to the park is pretty run down, you can definitely rattle your rig if you don't drive slow.

Beautiful clean and inexpensive
By user-5648719... on 2017-10-23.
This park is a gem. All sites are paved, and near the water (no swimming) for fishing, it is a beautiful setting, the park is well maintained and everything is very clean. If I had to mention one minor nitpic, the trash dumpsters are a little far away. The cost of the site includes the park admission fee. I recommend this campground.

One of the BEST

Clean, great restrooms, paved sites, beautiful views of the lake. Road coming in lumpy but paved. Speed says 25-30...try 10-15 but only for 2 miles. This is a real gem and only 9 or so miles off the NTrace parkway. Been in a lot of SP's and this one is a 10. You won't be disappointed.

A really nice park well away from anything. Level site with full hookup. Park not used much now as the lake has been drained. Bath houses good; good laundry. Good hiking trails.

Best State Park we have visited this far!

We are fairly new to the motorhome world and we prefer state parks. This one was by far the best! The water was low but it is that time of the year. There is plenty to do. Lots of hiking, biking and we even enjoyed watching the ATV's. The road coming in was bumpy but don't hold that against them. There was plenty of room for our children to run, play and fish. We will be back.

Great even without the lake

We didn't find out until a few weeks after we made our reservation that the lake was drained. We were going to the area for a wedding so decided to just keep the reservation since our recreation time would be limited anyway. I am so glad we did. This is a beautiful state park with well maintained facilities and trails. Everyone we came into contact with was friendly and helpful and we couldn't have asked for a more peaceful, relaxing time. If you don't mind not having water to play in, this park is definitely worth a visit!

Great state park

We stay here whenever we visit the area. Make reservations online is a must. The camp host are very nice and accommodating. There is no water in the big lake now so don’t go there expecting a lakefront view. But, we go for the people. And being in the woods is awesome. We will always stay here when in the are. We live in a 40 ft motorhome.

Nice park, no lake

Disappointed in the absence of the lake, helpful staff, nice location. Access roads to park are narrow and poorly maintained, park roads are good.

Great park
By user-4766309... on 2019-08-09.
This park is a quiet spot to just relax and chill. WiFi and cell signals were very spotty. Even though it rained all the time we were here we still enjoyed the area. Office workers were friendly and helpful.
One thing that was a negative is that it is very hard to find your spot in the evening, I suggest re-painting the numbers for the slots.
This is a place we will be coming back to.
