Except for the bathrooms...
By user-5615313... on 2017-10-23.
We have a tiny trailer no water. So we found the bathrooms to be...pretty bad. Clean enough, but broken stuff, out of order stuff, broken door.
Staff...very friendly and willing to flex and accommodate
Grounds ...ok...we have a dog and she didn't complain
Activities...something every night
Attractiveness. The pines trees are gorgeous and there are many. Signs needs re-doing,painting, washing, but all cheap and easy fixes.
It's pricey, but getting a site around here is a hard so we took what we could get.

Awesome campground. My friend keeps his camper there year-round. Makes those quick weekend trips allot more enjoyable. Campsites and amenities are perfect. Staff is very helpful and friendly!

Rustic and a bit lawless
By user-5794028... on 2017-10-23.
Stayed 2016-12-03 to 2016-12-09
The live music on Saturday's and Tuesdays spreads to a party in the camp site that goes on till 3am. The laws keeping dogs on leash are not rigorously applied. Bit otherwise it is a good place for easy beach access and lots of things to do in the vicinity.

Its rustic all right!
By user-6641183... on 2017-10-23.
Not impressed!! Very run down, all gravel/sand roads very holey and bumpy from not being kept up. Buildings and other mobile homes in park run down. Didnt go into shower house. Sign said cable but no cable the whole time we were there for 7 days. short term stay wld be ok but would not recommend long term.

Home away from home
By user-6394380... on 2017-10-23.
My family and I love Mexico Beach and this is our home away from home Everyone is friendly most of the spaces are great, the pool is a nice change if you don't want to go to the beach. The live music stops at a decent hour, we have small children and the noise level here has never been an issue. We will definitely continue staying here.

Name says it but so entertaining.
By user-5853161... on 2017-10-23.
RUSTIC Sands is a good description of this back to nature park with tall pinetrees. Laid back campground on the Forgotten coast with a tiki bar and restaurant serving pozza Tues and Friday with 4 different flavor crust. We had garlic butter. GOOD. Randy & the Sat night band was good and we enjoyed spaghetti dinner and magician and band for $10 on Valentines Day. Lots of walking spots for pets. Laundry even had iron and ironing board and only charged $1. Friendly family run place that has a lot of returnees. We couldn't get satellite as our spot was under the trees but with so much entertainment and daytrips, we didnt miss it except for morning news. In a pullthru with 40' coach and trailer.

Enjoyable stay
By user-5844963... on 2017-10-23.
We are the Griffin family from Georgia. We really enjoyed celebrating our anniversary here. Nice camp ground, not on the beach, but a half mile away from one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Mango Marlies is a great place to eat if you visit. Lots of places to visit around Mexico Beach Florida. Lots of old history for short day trips. Great staff and entertainment on site.
Thanks for the wonderful time

As said in other reviews, one of few games in town. Surprisingly large campground with lots of shade. Lots of full timers and campers alike. Live music on the Saturday night we we there, not too loud and made for good evening. Close enough to beach, but nice escape from it after a long day in the sand and waves. Overall good experience and hope to come back again.

Only game in town
By user-6244752... on 2017-10-23.
I'd you want a lawless campground this is your place. Last night after they shut the tiki bar down and the music stopped at 10 the site across from us continued the party until almost 3 with a huge bonfire drinking and loud voices. No one was available or cared to stop it. Also the office closes every day at noon and doesn't reopen until after 2 and only for an hour so if you had arranged for deliveries, like we did, if they aren't open UPS won't deliver. Alot of permanent residence also. Probably won't come back.

Overall nice and quiet

Very quiet, they must have thousands on all the christmas decorations. They should have bought less and upgraded their bathrooms.

Quiet get-a-way

Quiet campground run by really nice folks. There are FHU pull thru or back in sites. Some are shaded. Some are on the canal. All have a picnic table. The back has full time folks buy all are well kept. The pool is small but nice. Love the tiki bar with beer and wine and the grill for quick snacks or lunch. They serve pizza, burgers and calzone. Best part is music on Tue, Fri & Sat. It s hit or miss as far as talent goes but great entertainment nonetheless.

Very rustic since Hurricane Michael hit here last October. They lost a lot of trees. They are working hard every day to bring it back. Only a few spaces for overnight. Full of disaster relief workers and displaced residents. Laundry room and showers are working. Swimming pool is not fixed yet. The beaches are still a mess!

They were great and helped us when we couldn t find a spot to park due to Hurricane damage. Most parks are full at this time with workers.
It s where Ground zero workers and equipment are working. They are working hard to put the pieces back together again.
