So scenic
By user-5854613... on 2017-10-23.
This is a fabulous campground. I stayed in South campground in #23. Paid $24. That was with a 25% senior discount. Park is clean. You have views of the lake. Shaded sites and level, paved sites. Just beautiful.

Beautiful!

We haven't stayed here in our rv yet(maybe this weekend!), but we had a blast tent camping! If you're a photographer you will be sooooo happy! Beautiful views & plentiful wildlife including bald eagles. Don't hesitate to kayak or canoe around the lake. You won't be sorry! Rangers & staff are really friendly & knowledgeable.

Park seems very specific to the sport of fishing. Not many trees, surrounding woods, hiking trails, etc. Some spots were super tight (I had to move my truck for my neighbor to get in and out).
Plenty of mosquitos.
Sunrise/ sunset over the lake was pretty. We enjoyed a few eagle encounters as well.

March 2018, This place is just beautiful. Our site was flooded from all the spring rain, but they gave us another one. You must read the hisory of how the lake was created! The park has such majestic views of the lake and the sunsets are awesome. There is much to do fo the avid out doors people. State Wildlife park, fishing and hiking...to mention a few. The sites are staggered sites so you don't feel like you are on top of each other. The park was quiet and well kept. Park host has been here for 19 years and was very pleasant. Make sure you have reservations this park fills fast. Bath house is clean w/ one washer and dryer. There is 30 & 50 amp hookups with water. No full hookups. Bottom line, a must stay.

Beautiful , shaded spaces

The park is very shaded, nice spacing between sites, clean bath house. Many of the sites had a lot of debris (bottles, paper trash, watermelon rinds), we had to sweep our drive of twigs, leaves etc, doesn t appear the staff cleans the sites after you depart. We would go back, the positive outweighs the negative.

Nice Lake

Signs everywhere read Don t dump fish waste in dumpsters. From the smell, this injunction was pretty well ignored.
The park had nice trees and grounds, and was on a pretty lake. that was created by an earthquake in the early 1800s.
Wonderful birds here (eagles, too, we heard).
A little awkward beginning as we went to find a campground host, finally gave up and moved into a site and later learned it was the host s day off but she d be back the next day and we could pay then.
