Stayed here over the weekend. The sites were level and new. The roads around the campground weren't paved though. A lot of food and shopping choices were only 5 miles away. The reason for our trip as the space museum which is about 1.5 miles away and very excellent! We spent 2 hours there and still don't finish looking at everything. The best part was driving on the back part of Redstone and seeing all of the old buildings and launch pads. This is where the space program started and thrived and it was amazing camping so close to such a huge part of history. We will definitely be going back!
Stayed here 2 days. Very nice park. Not hard to find, but no office to check in. We are in a 43' towing. Nice concrete pad with plenty of room. The entrance to get to the pull through larger RVs spots are not running the correct way. So we had to go backwards to get in the spot. No one to ask. Just go to your spot they give you on the reservation. Nice location and close to shopping and the Space Center, our reason for the visit. Did not use any amenities. They are expanding this place. Nice. No cable, but can get many local channels. Would definitely come back.
Seems that the managers of this campground could give a hoot about the campers and I think they are just after a paycheck. Not a top notch run "Military Only" campground but could be. Grass is cut in most places but not enough to suit my taste. I guess I have higher expextations than most. It is a super nice place with walking trails, cement pads, full hookup and quiet. Nice laundry room and excellent hookup station at each spot with cement pads. I wanted to leave a day early but the policy is "five days in advance" for a refund of the days not used even if I had to move for my last night on a Sunday. I would think they would at least have someone edge cement and check spots after others leave to make sure it is clean for tge next camper. I did see a sunburnt lady picking weeds from the cement wall in front of laundry mat but no one mowed grass at my spot. All I can say is that is is definately worth the price. I think there is a camp host but not sure. I could not get cable to work but it did not work 4 months ago either. Nice walking trails and can walk to commisary and gas station.
