This is a wonderful campground. The sites are paved and level with lots of pines and wildlife in abundance. Some have spectacular vistas of Pikes Peak, but even those that don't have forest views. Electrical hookup only with water spigots in every loop. Vault toilets are clean and showers in the main restrooms are spotless. We camped here in a travel trailer and will be coming back.
| Heavenly camping
Favorite place to camp. Sites very spacious and level. Electric only. Water spigots here and there. Great dump station. Superb hiking in and out of park. Quiet and lovely.
| Best Colorado State Park
It's a park on a mountain top. It's a bit tight navigating our rig, F250 and a 36' bumper pull, but well worth it. Pull thru spot, reasonably level, stable power, SHADE. Did I mention it's in a forested spot with lots of SHADE? It's not like its hot though. Early August, 80 degree day, 40 degree night. Make sure your furnace is working! We wanted to go gambling at Cripple Creek, but there was a MC rally - couldn't even get close. Still, 2 bars of 3g was good enough for email. I think we got all the major TV networks on antenna. If you want a weekend stay any time during the season, reserve as far out as you can. Every spot was taken when we stayed. We WILL be staying again.
