Love this place

Just lovely, perfectly maintained. Everyone friendly and helpful. We only had a time for an overnight, but last time enjoyed the Horse Park itself: just amaing. Would always stay there when near Lexington. We had electric and water, don’t know if there are any full hookups, but the dump station areas are very well maintained.

Great stop at an mazing campground

Stayed only overnight but after a long day's drive it was great to let the kids stretch out and burn off the energy at a clean playground. Lots of paved spaces and roomy to negotiate a big rig. No sewer at sites but still have lots of tenants. They empty on the way out or have those portable sewers to empty periodically. Bathrooms and showers are clean. Didn't get to use the pool but seemed like many kids using it and having fun.

So-so
By user-5903765... on 2017-10-23.
This is kind of a hard review to write. I mean, the campground itself was physically fine. Clean, large grassy and shady sites, office people were nice. Free golf cart shuttle to and from Kentucky Horse Park on demand. One con was that although there were pet leash rules, many people let there dogs roam the campsites loose. Multiple large dogs. I saw a woman with her dog on a leash suddenly pick up her dog in fear when 4 loose dogs from one campsite charged into the street after her. They were friendly, but you never know. I have a tiny dog. I was uncomfortable each time taking her out of the RV. Also, there was a general feeling of invaded territory. Kids on bikes, adults, and golf carts cut across our campsite randomly, startling us and our dog. So, you decide. Maybe you have 4 dogs you want to let roam. Then you'll love it!

Very nice quiet location. Easy on and off I75. Great helpful staff.

Outstanding
By user-6437091... on 2017-10-23.
The campsites are large - at least 50' between our RV and our nearest neighbor. Our site was paved and level, surrounded by grass and large trees. There is a shuttle to the Kentucky Horse Park which is adjacent to the campground. There are no sewer hookups, but there are 2 dump stations. If I am in the area, I will stay here again.

Parke is very clean being upgraded the pool. A little difficult to actually find off the interstate. Nice pools very clean showers. Just a little bit noisy.

Great stop off I75. Open all year WiFi is spotty.

Best campground in the area. Large sites that are well maintained and clean. The pool is nice and staff and police helpful. Only complaint I would have is the lack of camp ran activities.

Felt 'warehoused' among RVs in a park

This is an auxiliary campground on property owned by Kentucky Horse Park, not within walking distance of any horses. If you aren't towing a car, it's just a campground full of other rv's. Nothing special.

Very "meh"

Disclaimers: We were here during "Southern Lights" and consequently could only camp in the D loop. Maybe other loops are nicer.
The campsites are perpendicular to the (narrow) road, making it very difficult for us to get our rig on our site. Also, the sites had no asphalt or gravel going up to the road, so it was physically impossible for us to get onto or off of our site without driving through the grass ... except there definitely wasn't any grass because nobody could do it and all the grass near the front of the site was gone.
I never rate a campground based on the weather (that's just silly!), but a campground should still be safe and usable in mildly inclement weather. We were there for a week and had light rain a few days we were there. The entire place was nothing but a mud pit. I understand that the earth there has more clay in it, but they should put in proper drainage to account for that.
On the plus side: the area immediately to the side of our door was small pebbles and wasn't too muddy. The fire ring looked to be poured cement and looked very nice. The playground was generally well maintained (though the swings could use some more mulch... they were pretty muddy below). The bathrooms and showers were the cleanest I think I've ever seen at a campground.
We'll probably explore other campgrounds in the area before returning to this one.

Very disappointed with Park. Will not come back.

One of the kids moved to Lexington, so we came up after Christmas to spend a few days with them. This was the only park we could find close to the city. The reviews seemed OK. But, we were in for a nasty, muddy surprise.
I rated the park two stars for its proximity to Lexington, otherwise it would have gotten one star.
The bad parts. The water was cutoff all sites. You have to run off the tanks and unfortunately we didnt learn of it until we had
arked and unhooked from the rig. No sewer at all. Four dump stations on the way out. The lads are so narrow that my 8-1/2 wide rig fits on the pad warpath 6 to spare on each side. I ve never seen a pad as narrow as these are. ALL the grounds outside the pads are MUD, sticky black clay mud that you can t brush off your shoes, or get off the dog s paws. There is no gravel or hard surface area to put your ladder and stay out of the mud when walking into the trailer. The pad is so narrow, you have to walk on the mud when you get out of the truck to go up the stairs. Maybe in the Summer it is better?? The road is so narrow and the pad so narrow that it is difficult to back your rig into place. Everyone I noticed struggled to get their rig on to the pad. The picnic table and the fire ring are located in a mud pit and not usable.
The spacing between the pads is reasonable.
A number of shady sites available.

Poorly planned RV Park.
By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.
Stayed 2018-12-27 to 2019-01-01
Poorly planned park, sites barely wide enough for the RV. Once off the pad, all mud, that sticks to your shoes like gum.
No water in the Park during the winter. Pads are perpendicular to the street and the riad is very narriw, so it is a real chore to back your unit on the oad. Pads are opposite each other on the road, so this makes it even more difficult to back in, if you have a neighbor across the street and they have their vehicle parked all the way to the street. The Wi-Fi never worked, the Park said it was not working and did not know when it would be working.
Close to Lexington. Wieight the closeness to Lexington, versus the inconvenience of a poor RV Park.

This park is ok for passing on your way to a better campground but the prices are continuing to rise and no improvements I see in the campground. The electric pedestals are worn and I have seen some that are even broken. Hope they fix them
By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.

This is a horse park, not a campground. The sites are paved with 2 % grade. 4o feet means a 8 inch drop. No sewer. At $45 per night. Find another place. No manger in site.

No order....insufficient voltage
By user-5863754... on 2019-08-09.
Golf carts ATVs everywhere, trucks and cars 5 on a site. Loose dogs..
Low voltage in the afternoon when A/C was desperately needed. Our protection device was tripping constantly.
Friday night was totally full and very chaotic, maybe this should be an event space because if you are traveling you will not rest here.
