One of our favorite parks. So much to do here. Long hiking trails, canoeing, fishing, biking. Nice rv sites with a beautiful tree canopy. If it had sewer I would give it 5 stars, only a dumb station.

Nice State Park

Nice State Park, friendly Rangers friendly work campers good roads some of them a little tight. Lots of sites kind of muddy. Majority of the sites have no satellite reception. Good swimming pool in the summer time lots of hiking to do. Needs sewage hook up at site, dump is OK

Beautiful park

We camped in the smaller of the two campgrounds. Playground was pitiful. Two swings and an old slide. We didn't use the bathhouse so can't comment on it. Our site was really beautiful but agree with others that sites are tight. Rigs over 38' will struggle getting through campground roads. The one dump station is inadequate for the number of campers and will get lined up--like down the road. If you leave the park daily like we did you will tire of the 3 mile loop you have to take to get to the sites. Overall the park is very nice and well maintained. The pool is huge. The trails beckoned but we didn't have time

Beautiful Scenery

The park is beautiful- we hiked on the Rapids trail with our two kids (2&7) and they loved it!
It was raining pretty much the entire time we were there so we didn't get to utilize the pool or ride bikes or anything.
I feel like an additional dump station is needed. The 1 station for the number of sites they have is inadequate- there was a line when we left around 11am at least 6 people deep.

Beautiful park, but super busy

I thought this park was absolutely stunning, it is one of Florida's oldest state parks so it is well developed compared to other state run facilities. So going in knowing that it is one of the oldest parks, the outdated bathroom houses were of no surprise, but they were always extremely clean so it was never an issue.
There was a large pool, (closed because it was winter, however it's ironically also there busiest time of the year so you would think the pool would be open, even for the brave souls who dare enter the cold water.) They also had multiple bike rentals, a restaurant and store to purchase your basic camping goods. I unfortunately didn't use any of these options so I cannot speak on the prices/availability of goods.
The camp sites themselves were quite large, however there was not a lot of privacy between spots so it felt a little cramped. You could tell people stayed at the same location at the same time every year, so it had a very neighborhood environment. But being young adults, it felt like we were in a 55+ community.
We came at an extremely busy time and didn't make reservations, which I understand is silly on our part, but they only leave 5 out of 100+ that are first come first serve, so we could only stay at one site for one night and then had to move to a different spot just so we could stay the weekend, which made it a little difficult. So I recommend making reservations before you plan on staying there. It's also not a far drive from any sort of shopping you would need. And an easy drive to Bush Gardens and about an hour from Disney World.

Site's are OK. Not a lot of privacy on most sites. Stayed on 33 and had a lot of foot traffic around the site. Saw 8ft gator in water. 10/2&3/15.

Beautiful Nature

The park is truly amazing. The landscaping is nice and there is lots of wildlife. Large campground. Biking, hiking, canoeing, swimming pool, golf cart rentals, cafeteria, many things to do. Bathrooms are old and there is no laundry facilities. Other than that, it would be 5 stars.2

Maybe the rain and mosquitoes turned us off

It rained every single day we were here, and we saw a good bit of campsite flooding. There was also a lot of standing water in the campground, which meant there were a lot of mosquitoes. Also, the pool was not included and would have cost us $4 per person per day to use. The river, which has some class 2 rapids, is beautiful, and the suspension bridge is neat. But most of the facilities were showing a lot of age, and the campsites need some work done so that the rain can drain off better. We doubt we ll return.

Beautiful Park

Very quiet, excellently maintained (except roadways), camp host was going site to site sweeping off picnic tables or always was doing something. every staff member that we had contact with was extremely pleasant. New washers and dryers at showers, but one dryer was a problem child. Bath houses were all old but very well maintained. The downside was that the roads are very narrow and not conducive to large coaches for most sites, and there can be traffic jams in the loops during check out to check in. For over 70 RV sites, there is only one dump station, so that one cost them a star.

Sites are close together and half of them rutted. It rained and half the sites had standing water for several hours. They need to build up the sites for better drainage. The River and hikes are beautiful.
