Herington Reservoir located 2 1/2 miles West of Herington has three points: Zeibell Cove, Schmidts Lookout, and Kandts Point. Scenic locations for camping, fishing, boating, and picnicking. The surface area is 555 acres and maximum depth of 40 feet. The reservoir sustains various wildlife including deer, migratory birds and great fishing as a part of the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Program.
