Pull through, private, pavement campsites. Nice boardwalk over the dunes to a spectacular sugar white sand beach you can't beat! Not much shade because your in Florida scrub.

Secluded sites
By user-5897917... on 2017-10-23.
This is a very nice park. 60 sites on the beach side. Everything is neat and clean. Our site (22) was spacious and secluded with water and electric. You can walk to the beach but I took the short drive instead. We would have stayed longer but there were no vacancies so make your reservations well in advance.

Spent 5 days at the state park and loved the space, shade, staff and convenience to the beach. Close enough to everything in town and had a blast!

At the Top of Our List!

I would give this park 6 stars. It ranks right up there with Ft. DeSoto County Park as our two absolute favorites. Each site is very large and surrounded with thick hedges and foliage, so it's probably the most private park we've been in. The facilities are well-maintained and meticulous. The whole park is so well planned and landscaped. And the beaches--oh the beaches--are beyond compare!

Perfect 5 Days!
By user-5855463... on 2018-05-17.
It doesn't get any better! There are two loops that all have great level sites with private campsites that have personality. Our site (#60) had many types of vegetation, was well maintained and had a clothes line. The walk to the boardwalk is flanked with numerous plants, small trees and wild flowers. The boardwalk is gorgeous. It meanders through the dunes and is home to various shrubs and plants and even sand pines. We spent countless hours walking the white, sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. You never get tired of watching the majestic waves. There are resorts in both directions, but far enough away you don't feel crowded by their presence. A 30 minute walk down the beach is the Back Porch. Stop in and have a drink or a bite to eat. The shrimp and spinach salad is fantastic! The sunsets are amazing along with the night lights of the shoreline. We also rode our bikes in to Destin (about 4-5 miles) to check out the shopping on the boardwalk. There is lots to explore and many places you can ride your bikes to. There is a Walmart outside the park if you need anything. Electric and water good. Verizon good. Bathrooms clean with good, hot showers. This is definitely on our list of places we have to come back to. We got lucky and made our reservation 2 weeks prior, but this is a very busy park. We will reserve a lot earlier next time.

Great Clean Park
By user-5160337... on 2018-07-06.
Gravel sites are level and well taken care of. There are clothes lines provided in order to dry your towels and swimsuits also.
The bathrooms are newer, clean and even airconditioned. Coin operated washers and dryers available there too.
A very nice walk through the beach fauna leads to a long boardwalk over the dunes to the beach. About a 10 minute walk depending on where your campsite is.
Would give it 5 stars but you can hear the busy main road traffic from the campsite (HYW 98). So not so serene.

Clean spacious sites, clean restrooms. Close to town. I could not find a thing to complain about at this part. Well deserving of the five stars.
