We reserved online and were pleasantly surprised by this park - a small, shady, and quiet campground (our site 13, clean, needed levelling but had good privacy with surrounding trees), and still close to all amenities. The upper loop had more space between rigs than the lower loop. Well kept with clean restrooms (pay showers, no soap or hand-dryer), easy trails to walk or bike ride, and lots of scampering wildlife. The lake is pretty although no swimming, and the public park area has neat play equipment for under 12s. I think there would be bugs on the muggier days - bring spray.
Quiet and nice park but lots of trash on our campsides.
Not bad for a state park. Minor inconveniences: No place to sit to change in shower. Sites not real level and pretty tight. Major concern: Homeless man walked right into neighbor's campsite and sat down next to his wife. She called the ranger on duty but he did not answer the phone. Husband walked over ranger was sitting at desk ignoring phone.
