Awesome setting
By user-5242219... on 2017-10-23.
Over 300 spots for all types is campers. We did not get a site with electricity for our RV , but we're here on a perfect day so it did not matter. Nice spacing between sites, plentiful bathrooms, many tree-shaded lots. Ask either to be close to the river or to have a view of the Tetons. I don't think you can have both. This is the place to stay as s base to go exploring local sites.

Nice campground
By user-5833082... on 2017-10-23.
We stayed in a 38 ft 5th wheel. Electric site (50 amp) cost $51. Sites are level and spaced far enough apart. Beautiful area. About 75 ft from the gros ventre river. Didn't see any large animals in the campground but saw a moose going to the campground. I would recommend this campground.

We love this campground

Very spacious spots, quite a few have shade. It's in bear country and some people can't seem to understand there are rules for that; however, the staff did patrol for those idiots. 2 mornings a moose walked right through the campground! Awesome! Convenient to Jackson and Moose entrance to GTNP. Ranger programs in campground Wed. - Fri. Nice. We will stay here from now on when in the area. Colter Bay a little more crowded. Loops A, B and C allow generators, loop D has Electric (higher cost). And has loops where generators are prohibited. We stayed 14 days and never full.

We were in Amphitheater... Overflow lot

Stayed 2018-09-14 to 2018-09-15
Location was OK, it was a parking lot by the Amphitheater so no hookups. Since we didn't make a reservation and it was about 3pm when we arrived, I was happy to get something. Lot filled up by evening.

Exceptional National Park Campground
By user-5358434... on 2019-08-09.
We did not have a reservation. We are a 34 Class A. We prayed they would be able to accommodate us. We were VERY fortunate. We highly recommend if you find yourselves in the same situation don t try coming here on a weekend. Come on a week day and you will have better luck. Many of the sites are too small for us larger rigs but they do have some. Especially in the no electric loops. None of the sites have water/sewer, but there is a dump site at the entrance and it has a fresh water connection. Many people fill their RV there. In addition there are fresh water spigots at several of the bathrooms in the park but in an RV they prefer you fill up at the gate.
Very quite, very friendly staff, most of the sites have recently been repaved and are level.

Gros Ventre campground

Love this place. If you want electric site, they open at 8 am and will have a line at the office to sign up for a site. Campers inside the park are waiting to move to electric sites. You can usually get a site without electric no problem, then next day be at office at 7:45 and get on the list for electric. No water hookups, but good dump and water fill convenient to loops. Moose are there. Very quiet. Restrooms with flush toilets, sinks with cold water only. No showers. ADA sites are large and very nice. Most in loop D are paved. No reservations, first come. Some views of Tetons. Walk to the river, no views of river. Staff was great, especially Joe. Area is beautiful. Great camping experience.

Amazing...
By user-6108889... on 2019-08-09.
This place was amazing. Quiet and super friendly staff. Bear safe storage available at every site which is fantastic.
30$ for dry camping is rather expensive though but can be explained with the location. Pay shower possibility located in Jackson Hole or within the park

Spacious, quiet park.
By user-6667673... on 2019-08-09.
Stayed 3 nights in non-hookup loop. Generator hours were reasonable. Gathering of firewood & kindling is allowed; kids scoured loop B clean in their zeal for s'mores. The single dump station is in high demand in the mornings as folks leave, sometimes the line is 3-4 rigs deep. Good location, close to the park attractions. Our loop had paved back-in sites well separated from neighbors. Would be 5 stars but $30 is a lot for a parking spot in Wyoming.

Stayed here 7-23 thru 7-24-2019 in our 5W. We had paid for 3 nights but due to family emergency (death in family) we had to leave the next day. No refunds were given which is fine. It is a national park. We arrived with friends and had no reservations. We were lucky to get boon docking sites. Totally unlevel and very small for our rig. But we made due. However, we did go back up at 11:00 to see if water and electricity sites were available. We lucked out and our party got 2 sites. There is a dump station. Nice park but you better make reservations. Honestly we lucked out!! Some of the water/electric sites are tight and ours was a little difficult to get in due to the size of our rig, the location of the site and the narrow road.
