Employees seem stressed. Cheap. 35 bucks. A hike
If I could give 0 stars I would. The sites were tight, the laundry room was disgustingly filthy, the showers were horribly dirty and the bathrooms in general were poorly kept and for the most part, unusable due to being dirty. We reported the conditions of the restrooms and laundry to the staff and were told they would be cleaned. However, they remained filthy and so we left early losing the cost of 3 night's stay as they do not issue refunds. The check in staff, J, was rude and unconcerned about the campground's condition. We did get some help from a maintenance man who replaced a cracked sewer cap that was allowing sewer smells to escape. He was,not able to fix the broken 30amp breaker so we adapted our 30amp to 50 for the time we were there. I generally do not write negative reviews, but the facility is abysmal & I strongly discourage anyone from staying there.
The restrooms were clean. They have a Camp store with wood, propane. These sites are wide enough with full hookups, picnic tables fire ring and Grill. The back in sites are Riverfront. They also have pull through sites . Very close to to tourist stuff, there is a trout fishing pond where you can go catch lunch next door and you can also walk to the breakfast place. It's only a few minutes to Sugar Mountain and a mile to Grandfather Mountain. Wish we had more than a day to spend there.
Grandfather Campground is located on over 100 acres of breathtaking scenic views, if you are wanting to get back to nature this is the place for you. We are open all year around so come day in a tent in the summer season or rent a cabin for ski season. Choose from one of our over 120 sites with many different hookup types or rent one of our on-site lodging. We offer easy check in and check out at the "Trading Post". Come and enjoy an adventure today.
