Can't be beat for the price
By user-5328489... on 2017-10-23.
Lucked out and got a site in the Mather Campground for four nights because someone canceled.
It's inside the park and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon is only a mile away.
No water or electric, so it's drydocking at it's finest. Pay showers and laundry along wit dump stations and drinking water. With the Federal Senior Pass, it's a whopping $9 per night. If you can run on batteries and conserve water, this is your place. Just make sure to make reservations 2-3 months ahead of time.

Big, nice, lot of people.

Big campground with lots of sites. Reserve in advance in busy season.
No hookups.
Central dump station for only one RV at a time.
Not - yet - in the listing: try the Desert View campground for a quieter place. No dump or fresh water there though. But the best view of the stars!

Good camp ground

Sites close together. Some areas have tent and rv sites mixed which can make for awkward situations when rv'ers rub their generators. I would go back. Plan on using the free buses to see the canyon. The bus stop is within walking distance.

Sourrounded by trees, no hookup, nice location

$18 no hook ups. I found the campsites to be quite spacious. Picnic table, fire rings, beautiful setting where elk cruise through in the early evening. Bathrooms throughout the campground but showers are near the check in station and some sites are quite far. Showers are $2 for 8 minutes. Free wifi at the showers/laundry. Free shuttle stop at the campground and throughout the park.

A beautiful place in the middle of nature. Toilets and showers are clean. A barbeque is available at every place. (Translated from German)

This was convenient to the Grand Canyon and easy to get into and out of with a far amount of space between the campsites. There were trees in some sites and grass with picnic tables. Very nice area to stay.

Very quiet, large sites. No hook ups, but water available and dump station is near entrance.
Free shuttle bus service to all of South Rim at CG entrance.
Reservations are a must. Books up well in advance. Walk-in camping is available at Desert View CG in park.

For a great price we got a pull-through trailer site with electrical hookups and a clean, running water bathroom close to our site. Very spacious, treed sites. Clean even while you're right in nature. Showers were lame - small, dirty and required payment, but again good value - $2 was more than enough water for my daughter and I to shower. Super close to the canyon!
