Great Experience for Maiden Voyage

Our first weekend as campers in our new TT was at Gettysburg Campground. We stayed in site 111 which is a pull through. This end of the campground was very quiet and we had few neighbors. All the sites at this end have at least a few trees. We were less than 50 feet from the creek. Everyone was very respectful of quiet hours. The opposite end of the campground seemed to be more family oriented. Camp sites seemed closer together and it was much more crowded. That's not our style but it would be nice for families or groups. Staff was very friendly and we loved the Hershey's ice cream! Our two beagles had fun howling at squirrels. We will definitely be back as it is a very convenient weekend get-away for us. I give it a 4 only because this was our first outing and we have nothing to compare it to!

Great Campground
By user-5055794... on 2017-10-23.
Well maintained, reasonably priced. Stayed here two days in October 2015, price was $38 without sewer. Clean showers houses, laundry, lots of amenities. Make a note that weekends in October are dedicated to Halloween festivities, so maybe tough getting a spot unless you stay on weekdays. Would stay at this park again - convenient location to Gettysburg and staff is very helpful with information on places to see, tours, pricing, etc.

This place is one of the best campgrounds we have stayed at in a while.
We played Mimi golf and shuffleboard. Nice level sites. Nice camp store with ice cream shop.

Very Nice
By user-6469677... on 2017-10-23.
We had a nice time here back in June. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were very clean, nice play equipment and a river running through the campground were some of the highlights. Will visit again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We stayed 6 nights, beginning with a busy weekend but by Sunday evening, there were few sites taken. The staff was very helpful in making recommendations about local sights and things to do. The camping store is very well stocked. There is a hand-dipped Hershey's ice cream shop in the store. We were able to rent a car nearby and travel around the area to Lancaster County and Hershey. The amenities are great with mini-golf, swimming, pedal carts, playground, and a large movie/event room. Our site was shady, along the creek, and quiet. Highly recommended!

Newbies

Our first trip with a brand new Travel Trailer. It was our test trip 200 miles from home for 2 nights. The weather forecast (cold) scared off some of the people that had reservations. We arrived to an almost empty campground that was preparing for the opening of its season. By the second afternoon, Friday, many more campers had arrived. We saw the campground empty and we saw it start to get busy. I believe in the warmer weather it would be packed. Every person in the office was extremely friendly and helpful to us newbies and went out of their way to assist us. I believe they have plenty of amenities for families with kids and they seemed to appreciate our business. We will definitely be back. We had sites 49 and 47 and backed right up to the creek. Everything was a short walk from our site. Always a tent camper, we learned a lot about trailer camping. The grounds were neat and well maintained

Gem by the Creek

Living in the area, I have always been a little apprehensive about this campground because it sits right on 116 - so wrong. We stayed here for our “maiden” voyage in our new camper to get out all the bugs. First off, the staff is absolutely fantastic. Friendly, informative, helpful and yet attentive to keeping a clean, safe environment. The campground was quiet and tranquil, especially along the creek. Activities were well-planned and the amenities are all there to make this a fantastic place to not only start our RV journey, but return in the near future when we just want to get away. Truly a gem of a place that we would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Gettysburg area.

Way Over-priced

It was a rainy season when we stayed here, with large puddles of water everywhere. Mostly gravel and uneven. Sites are close together and messy. Roads are hard to navigate, with hard turns. An OK place but way over-priced for what you get.

We stayed on the sundeck with our 35 foot travel trailer and had no problems with the 3 day heavy rain.
Thank you for the thick layers of stone on the sight !
The whole place is super clean and the folks are really nice.
We will be back !!

We stayed for 4 nights. Lots of shade, a beautiful park. The staff was so nice and gave suggestions for places to see and eat at. Nice creek running on one side. The sites have plenty of room and level. WIFI was a little spotty at times. Would definitely stay here again.

Great stay!
By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.
We called for a site and told them we would arrive very late. They had everything ready for us in a clearly marked envelope on the door...our name, site #, map. Knowing we were arriving late for 1 night, they were super nice and gave us a pull thru to make it easier on us and less noise for the neighbors.
Level sites and plenty for the kids to do...playground, pool, mini golf, ice cream, pedal karts.
Would definitely stay again.

Very good customer service, well maintained, beautiful park. I won't be considering any other park for my next trip to Gettysburg. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

This is a shady and quite flat campground. Nice people working there. Clean facilities. Activities. Gravel sites and road. Warning: if you have a large camper. Get information about your spot before you move in. Sites are extremely close. Roads are narrow. I have a 32 motorhome with a car dolly. When I put it in the site- which I had to do by driving through someone else s site- the man leading me in complemented me on my driving When I got out, I saw why. I had maybe 8 of free space from my sides. When I left, with or without the car dolly, I would not have been able to leave except the site in front of me was empty. Even then, I barely made it out. So I suggest you ask to see where they want to put you before you set up if you have a large unit.
