| Quiet and peaceful nestled in farmland

This park is a gorgeous retreat hidden among farmland and woods. It is a county park within a wildlife conservation area. It is a monarch butterfly and bird habitat conservation district. Deer will wander into the edges of the picnic area to nibble grass. There is a very spacious and peaceful feel to the RV area. The sites are widely spaced and well maintained. There are huge shade trees and grass. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. There are not full hookups, but there is a dump station and there are water spigots throughout the park. The bathrooms and showers are clean (freshly painted too) and well maintained. The park is closed in the winter, so check the dates if traveling early spring or late fall. The park is a bit off the highway (15 minutes) and hidden in the middle of miles of farmland. This was a plus for us- we love the quiet peaceful atmosphere. It was easy to find and well worth the slight detour off the highway. Look for the brown signs. Some might want to be closer to services and restaurants. There is nothing near by. The park employees couldn t have been nicer, or more accommodating. They obviously work hard to keep the park up. There is a beautiful picnic area with a small playground and ample open areas for kids or pets. Paved walking paths around the picnic area are perfect for stretching legs. The $20 fee was a great value for such a peaceful, restful stopover. We obviously loved it here.

This park is great if you don t need entertainment or a lot of services. It is out of the way, far from city lights and noise. The restrooms and showers are clean and well stocked. There is ample room for kids and pets to run. Paths throughout the park are great for walking. Being a conservation area there is a variety of wildlife to watch. Very peaceful stop for us, perfect after a long day of travel.
