Wonderful Campground and State Park!
By user-1152003 on 2017-10-23.

My wife and I camped in the Riverside Campground (there is also an Oceanside campground). The Riverside campground has wonderful shade and the sites are fairly private and were well cleaned. The restroom facility was excellent and very clean. The Oceanside campground has no shade but is VERY convenient to the beach. The park itself is very nice and the Fort provides a nice walk through a 19th century fort. Well worth the stop whether you camp or not. We camped in a small travel trailer.

Excellent!

This state park is beautiful! The riverside camp sites are shaded & the bathhouse was very clean & new. The fort is $2.50/person admission & all of the buildings are open for viewing. The beach is nice but there is a dog-friendly beach just outside the park entrance. The staff were all kind & helpful. I enjoyed my 2-night stay & hope to return.

Nice park. The fort is a must see. Great history. Nice bike trails. The beach is very pretty and not crowded. Stayed at the river side campground. Sites had plenty of room and pretty good privacy. Bathhouse was new and very clean. From the river campground to the beach is a short drive or a moderate ride on bike. Too far to walk. Drove through the beach campground, the sites are open and a lot closer together but just behind the dunes from the beach. Would highly recommend eating at Timoti's Seafood Shak.

Amazing so close to the water!

Lovely campground so close to the water!
Clean bathrooms and showers.
We also took a tour of Ft Clinch. So fun!
We stayed two nights in Feb 2016. My two small boys loved playing on the beach and on the great playground.
We will defiantly camp here again.

Came in January without a reservation and on a Saturday and were lucky to get a wonderful site on the river side. Lots to do with hiking trails, biking and a mile long fishing pier. Spotless restrooms and laundry facility.

Great state park located right on a river and Atlantic ocean. We stayed in the River side which had beautiful trees with large level parking sites. It was within walking distance of the river and ocean. They also had ocean sites which had smaller trees but were only a beach dune away from the ocean. We loved it here and would definitely come again!

Fort on site you can visite for 2.50$ ! Beach was on 100ft off my camping site. Small lot not about 20 only rigs. Super clean utilities. Also you can spend your last day completely for free in the park at the beach also, there is a free parking for park visitor so the day we left at 11, just go park there and voila... Full beach day ;)

Great stay

Scenic, we were on site 39 on the river. Best spot! Also hiking trail nearby to take dog for a walk. We had a day of rain which did cause the site to be covered in about 2 inches of water. Was a bit snug getting in with our 36' coach but doable (we are rookies). Bath house was incredible! Clean and well maintained.

Our New #1 Best Park! Period!

Many of you know us as Van Trekking Lifestyle. We live in a Travato 59K van and LOVE state and national parks! We spent 3 nights at Fort Clinch State Park in early January, 2019. It FAR exceeded our expectations...FAR! So far, it is now officially #1 on our list of favorite parks in the US... not just Florida but US. Why? It has everything we love. Bike trails. Biking on paved roads that are quiet and safe. Hiking and lots of trails to walk on. River to paddle board and fish. Ocean and beach. There s a section of sites for folks who love being under live oaks and shade and there s a section under palm trees right by the beach. Last night we experienced the most beautiful sunset, made only better by pelicans flying through it and a dolphin literally swimming in the reflection. It was one of those cue the deer moments (if you remember that movie). Nice people working here. Really nice bathrooms. It s quiet. Man, the list goes on and on and on. We ll feature this park in one of our videos soon. Words don t do this park justice. Hate to leave!! But will be back!

Amelia River Campground
By user-6410205... on 2019-08-09.
Finally got a reservation for a week. It was great exploring the fort and waterfronts. The state park has a lot to offer.
BUT.....the Campground....
But, I am rating the Amelia River campground where we stayed. We were in site 52. Half of this campground has a paved road and the half we were on, was a dusty dirt road(sites 39-54). Every vehicle that came by us lifted a dust cloud. Our lot was level but made of the dusty dirt. We ran our air purifier to battle the dust inside our motor home. The dust covered our shoes and tracked onto everything.
Gnats are bad. It s the typical coastal biting gnats so bring some spray!!! Lots of it!
There is only one bathhouse for the whole campground that has 62 sites and it is at the west end so the walk was long and dusty. The bathrooms were updated and very clean. The building is elevated so you have a ramp or stairs to climb.
The shade trees were nice and the hills behind the lot kept the high winds at bay. Lots of birds!
If we come back here we will stay in the beach side campground or just make it a day trip.

Tent camping
By user-5281196... on 2019-08-09.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. The tent site had no electricity but had potable water but no shade. Bathroom and shower facilities were very clean. Beautiful beach and great trails. Definitely planning to visit again
