Fort Caspar Campground
By user-1818006 on 2017-10-23.
This is a very nice, well taken care of and well run campground. This part of WY is over run by oil and gas employees and most of the park is permanent residents (or long term) but they maintain a section for over nighters or short term visitors (we stayed for 8 days). The sites are open, level and gravel. Nice laundry room and rest room facilities but no pool or spa if that's a concern for you.
If we return to Casper, we will return here.

Cable on our site did not work. Water pressure is the lowest I have connected to. Dusty, gravel and level sites. Lots of permanent residents.

pros and cons
By user-6587848... on 2017-10-23.
Pros:
Managers are fantastically friendly. They worked with us day after day while our car was in the shop providing late checkout and being understanding.
Middle of town, convenient to everything
Fishing in ponds without license. Fun little bluegill that will go for anything.
Clean bathrooms and laundry room
Playground that my kids loved
Cons:
Poor internet, fluctuating up/down
Close level sites without table or fire pit. Like a parking lot.
No frills. But fine. The nice managers make up for the cons. I'll take a nice manager in a basic campground over rude managers in a nice campground any day.
Lots of full timers but everyone seems to keep to themselves.

Clean
By user-6152849... on 2017-10-23.
Level crushed stone sites. Quiet on a Friday note in late may. Paid $39 full. Hookup
By user-5642360... on 2017-10-23.
We paid half price with Passport America $22, and it was worth $11.
Electricity worked well, wilfd turkey on site ... Shower on men's side water cold; woman's OK bit not a private shower. Lots are level but very close, I could see everything the neighbor had for dinner. No shade trees as stated, no cable, WiFi barely loaded email. This is a one night stop not a campground to stay at. This site is for permanent residents who work in the area. Very quiet after 10 / phones, dogs all wake up at 7.

The Fort Casper Campground was a good place to stay for the night. This campground had level gravel covered campsites. I will say the campsites are close together, but it is a very quiet campground. Restrooms and showers were Clean. Dog friendly! Overall a good stay.

Walk the Nature Trail
By user-6123318... on 2017-10-23.
This is not fancy but it's clean, well run, easy to get to and had great electricity. The property is owned by the Izack Walton Conservation group. I saw a Kingfisher and an Osprey within a 100 yards of our campsite. Nice sites for tents. Water pressure was bit low but we were just filling the tank so we didn't complain. Casper is a nice town and this is a good spot for base camp while you explore. We'll be back.

We stayed for one night while passing through Wyoming. The showers were very clean and nice. The spaces, as noted by others, were quite small. There was little or no grass, all gravel, level site. However there were numerous available sites but we were put right by the bathroom. There was a huge obnoxious light over our RV all night. It was too late to move and the office was closed.

I forgot to say that for the price, we did not even have a picnic table! But it was too windy anyway to use if we had one!!

By user-6000700... on 2017-10-23.
Trailers are too close to each other, make you fill like a sardines in a can, internet isn't strong enough, their cable tv is bunch of crappy channels, the owner was kinda rude. Stayed one night and left.

OK Stay, needs some work
By user-6149644... on 2019-08-09.
The campground is owned and operated by the Casper Chapter of the Izaak Walton League. Izaak Walton wrote the "Complete Angler", first published in 1653, so you think there would be access to the North Platte River which runs along the north side of the campground, not so. Overall the restrooms, showers and laundry are clean and usable. Otherwise you are basically in a gravel parking lot with full hook-ups.
