| Best Campground in PCB

By user-5954053... on 2017-10-23.

We have stayed here 3 times and have had a pleasant experience every time. The grounds are well kept and the bath houses are clean. The campground is located right off of Front Beach Rd and is only a short drive from the beach. This is where we will stay whenever we go to PCB.

Been going to this park for years. A little pricey but we'll worth it.

| Lots of potential. Huge failure.

We booked this spot over their online request form with the hope of a pull-thru spot on one of their new paver sites with grill and patio set. On the confirmation email, we were never told that we would be receiving anything different that what was asked for. We arrived at 6:45 on Friday night and found that the front office was closed already and had a welcome envelope hanging on their "late arrivals" board alongside 20 other "late arrivals". The envelope contained a garage door opener from 1981 and a letter saying our site number and "come pay in the morning. No code for the wifi, no channel listing or any other information about the campground at all. The layout of the campground is very, very stupid and disorganized by forcing almost everyone to make a bunch of rediculous turns in order to get into their spots. We were under the assumption that the entire campground was paved with cobblestone pavers that make a level campsite facing a pond. We found out that only newer year motorhomes were allowed to park in those spots and that we were forced to park in the "broken uneven cement pad with dirt instead of grass" area because we didn't spend $400,000 on our camper. We were forced to set up our camper so that our hoses were in the mud and our doorstep was in a huge puddle of water to ensure our vehile fit in our site space as well. My husband went to pay our balance the next moring and asked for the Wifi code in which we were told that we would have to pay $4.00 per day for every 2 devices. We had 4 devices because our dvd player is wifi capable. I was very upset that a place that charges $74.00 for a busted campsite also charges for internet. We received the code and attempted to sign-in multiple times. After calling the front desk again and asking about the code she said "our internet must not be working. I'll just give you a refund." So much for finding out what their was to do in Panama City Beach or watching movies on such a crappy windy day. We also asked about getting our propane tanks filled since we were by the filling station. We were told to just leave them in front of our campsite and that a gentleman would come and grab them to be filled and we were have to stop by the front and pay afterwards. The next day, our tanks were still sitting empty right where we put them, waiting for someone to steal them. We called the front again and explained that we were leaving and needed the propane to keep our fridge running while we were travelling. Again, we were told that "she will send him right over to fill them." That was at 8:15 AM, when we were packed and ready to leave at 10:30, the propane tanks were still empty. My husband finally loaded them up and we had them filled at the local gas station down the street without issue. The one thing I didn't like was checking out of this place. The enterance/exit is off of a very busy street and becuase we now had their garage opener that is the size of a brick on our person, we were forced to stop at the front desk to "checkout". This stop blocked all of the traffic behind us and also foiled someone's attempt to come into the facility with a huge motorhome. The whole set-up is very awkward and strange. The upside of the trip was that we were located close to their new pool with waterfall. That whole side of the campground was beautiful with fresh sod, new pool and amazing looking camp spots that had a free standing BBQ grill and very nice patio furniture. Too bad there were only 5 motorhomes there using them because the rest of our campers and RVs weren't "good enough" for those sites. For $74.00 a night, our $50,000 2014 bumper camper was only good enough to be put in a spot with a nasty picnic table, dead foilage and a sorry looking piece of wood in free standing water for a utility pedestal/hook-up center. Needless to say, we will never be camping here again, we will go to Pensacola or somewhere else that isn't so misleading.
