One of our favorite parks. Has numerous pull-throughs. There is plenty of space between the back-ins. This area is beautiful with creeks and waterfalls. The colors are vibrant during the fall and you have to get reservations months in advance. The park has full hook ups and has been renovated with concrete pads and new bath houses. The lodge has a restaurant approx 1 mile from campground. The park has over 20 miles of hiking trails and is near Mentone that is a step back in time

Careful getting here
By user-5247651... on 2017-10-23.
The park is great. Nice, level sites, space between them is adequate and LOTS of things to do nearby. However, plan your route carefully. Narrow residential roads with VERY tight turns to get here. Class As and long pull-behinds beware.

Nice park
By user-6218873... on 2017-10-23.
This park has allot to offer. The campground is laid out well, sites spaced good but is on a constant grade. Kind of a challenge for kids to ride bikes. I feel they should of made this campground on up the road to top of mountain where the primitive area is and flat. Most sites are fairly level. Some are way off from level. Good hiking, mnt biking, swimming, climbing, around the park. Stayed in travel trailer will return

Our first Alabama State Park: beautiful: layout, facilities, location (on a ridge of Lookout Mountain) forests in all directions. Sites laid out so well that during the ensuing days of non-stop rain, not a puddle in our site but some great streams flowed around it. Due to rain, little hiking, but beautiful trails by the river and waterfalls! A lodge with a restaurant and cabins nearby as well. Restrooms part of the remodel with great tile work. Hope to go back.

Well kept

We stopped here because we wanted to see all the waterfalls in the area and sight-see the Little River Canyon. The sites are all well-kept with smooth level pads for both tents and RVs. Plenty of amenities including a pool, outdoor theater and general store. I wasn't able to access any wi-fi but didn't really miss it. One review said to reserve months in advance but we went Fathers Day weekend and there were plenty of spots available. Also, sites are well separated and every one has easy access to the wonderful bath houses.

Site unlevelable. Waterfalls outside actual park

Avoid site #15. All loose gravel and by far the most un-level site to date for us. Pouring down rain. Gave up and went with the best level we could get. It was so bad our shower would not drain into gray tank. Refrigerator stopped working also. NO cell phone coverage. Next morning they allowed us to move to another site #79 which was almost perfectly level. Our shower drained and refrigerator started cooling again. We were told only 3 sites in the entire park are level by the hosts.
Next, we found out all of the waterfalls were not in the actual park. Closest was 7 miles out. We decided to give it a go on our electric bikes. Problem is the road is 45mph, dual yellow lines, narrow, hilly with no shoulder. Half way there a pickup truck driver decided to pass my wife in-lane and almost hit her forcing her to stop inches from the edge of the no shoulder road with a severe drop. We turned around and gave up. The park is nice. People drive way too fast even inside the park even with share the road with bike signs.
