Right on the beach
By user-642005 on 2017-10-23.
This is a great park right on the beach. We were fortunate enough to get a last minute reservation and when we got here we were really excited to see we got what we think is the best site (45). The sites are level and the front row backs right up to the beach so the views are great. The have nice showers and good laundry facilities. Verizon service here was good and they have decent free wifi.

Unusual Reservation System-None!

Stayed 2013-10-11 to 2013-10-16
Our first RV trip to Galveston Island, caravaning with two other trailers. As we planned to socialize while there, I phoned twice to be certain that our reservation was close to the other two sites. The reservationist even called back to tell me that she had been able to spot us very near the others. #36 I believe. On arrival we were put in #50, basically at the other end of the park, the explanation being that our spot had not been vacated! These people don't know when renters are going to vacate because the park charges the same if you stay a partial week or a full week. More of a "squatter rights" system. After fighting Houston traffic to get there and ending up having to slog the length of the park ever time to see our friends, we cut our stay short. Otherwise facilities were older but adequate.

The campground facilities were nice, level cement pads and great hook up stations. Laundry was clean and machines worked well,
. Most of staff was friendly and helpful. The beach was poorly maintained. They picked up trash from barrels located along the beach but not the trash on the ground. Beach has very fine grey sand and there is some seaweed but that is natural... The plastic ranging from bottle caps to rubber gloves and other questionable trash made walking in some places questionable. We wanted to pull into our campsites so our door faced my sisters camper and we were told it was against regulations even though it is not mentioned in any of the papers they give you. In speaking with one of the nice employees it was so someone partying wouldn't have there camper facing someone who wasn't, which didn't make since because we wanted to have the space between us shared. He also said that they did this because they wanted tent campers out i of the park since they remodeled after a storm. We couldn't put stakes in the ground and a dozen other rules.... We will not camp here again.....driving through Dallas and then Houston to be in a place where we couldn't relax wasnt worth it.

Best camp ground service
By user-5634095... on 2017-10-23.
Came to visit during labor weekend without reservations and did not realize that every camp ground would be fully booked. As I go to check in at the office. I get the bad news that there are no spaces available. So I asked politely if there was anyway that I could be put on a waiting list in case there was a cancelation. The lovely staff lady said she would do one even better to help me out. Knowing that there were no other camp grounds available for me to stay at. So she got on the phone to call other customers to see if they would be willing to help me out by switching spots due to my rig was to long to fit in the available short back in spots. The gentleman she spoke to was so kind to help us out. To thank him I paid for his stay here and thanked them again once they showed up. I did not forget about the front office sweet heart. Gave her a gift card for 25 dollars

Good Stay

We stayed 3 nights here, because our first choice the Sandpiper was booked. The office was friendly. The restrooms were clean and modern. The laundry room was good and very reasonable at 1$ for a wash. The sites were cement pads with table and parking space. The location between the beach and ponds was great, but you have to drive into town. Beware of the little burrs in the grass. They stick to everything and are bad news to bare feet. We enjoyed our stay.

We had booked for 3 nights on a spot on the waterfront side, right next to the walkway down to the beach. Once we parked, we decided to see if we could stay an extra night.
All they had was a pull through site one row back, but being on the beach as this campground is we took it. So 3 nights on the waterfront and we moved for an additional night.
Nice clean park, friendly/helpful camp staff. And far enough away from the main seawall traffic.
Would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Dellanera RV Park. No matter what sight you are in, you're just a very short walk to the beach. We had 5 people in our travel trailer so we used the camp showers. They were nice and clean. We also washed a load of sandy towels. The laundry room was very nice. We hope we can visit again very soon.
