Nice Campground

This was our first camping trip with our new travel trailer. We stayed in campground #1 and had a very shady lot. It was a little tight due to the cedar trees. The bath house was a little dated, but was ok. The locals started coming in on Friday night. Good water pressure and power was good also. Several friendly campers in the campground.

We really like this place

We stayed a week and really enjoyed ourselves. We stayed in Campground 1, very shady and nice. Weekends fill up with locals with lots of families which is nice. There is a nature center, frisbee golf course, and hiking. Laundry is $1 and the laundry room is kept very clean. Good water pressure and voltage. Dump station is well lit and has a flush hose ready to go. For staying in the Nashville area I would highly recommend. All in $23 a night for us. Firewood is $5.
Camp Hosts are great.

Just purchased a new travel trailer and this was our first trip. We camped in campground #1 and it was very shady. Spaces were a little tight due to all the cedar trees. Restrooms were a little dated, but all in all we had a great time. Good water pressure and power was fine. Very friendly campers with several locals coming in for the weekend. Will definitely go back

It was a great site. The cost was 20.00 per night for a motor home towing a car. It was shaded and roomy. There is swimming for a cost of 2.00 per guest. Huge pool and nice trails. It is around 25 minutes from downtown Nashville.

Nice State park and campground
By user-5899359... on 2018-03-14.
Have stayed there many time over the past 15 years. Little has changed in that time period. While this is good it is also bad in that in campground “A” the spaces are tight to get in to due to trees and/or power pedestals. The spaces were designed before “slides” appeared so your driver’s side “slide” may be over into your neighbors’ area. Campground “B” is more wooded and is limited to 30amp service. The spaces are all back-in. Campground “C” is limited to 20amp service. If you enjoy satellite TV the amount of trees may limited your choices. The bath house is older but clean.
The good is that they have several things for families. Swimming, hiking horseback riding and the usual things in a State park.

Very friendly Staff.

At this writing, the park only had one section open, so the weekend was a bit crowded. Overall, We’d definitely go back. Beautiful grounds, great trails, friendly people. WiFi not so good, but our ATT hotspot was great.

Wooded and shaded
By user-5620841... on 2018-05-17.
Large old growth trees shade the paved sites. Water and electricity. Sites include picnic table and fire ring. They seem to be close to level. Bathroom is small, two showers, but the water is hot and plentiful. A big park with lots to do on the area. Version is good, 3 bars. The park has minimal wifi too. $25 with senior discount.

Arrived at check in time. Checked in not given a map, but shown with the employees finger how to get to site. Luckily I paid attention. Site was very tight to get into. This is more like a parking lot KOA than a state park. Site was dirty/nasty with cigarette butts everywhere in our site. Uneven site (32) hard to get level even with our auto level system. Electric kept kicking off even though it says 50 amp. We switched to one air and breaker still not working. Fixed but told this is only 30 amp, but we were only running one air in the first place. The lady at the check in says 50 amp. Will not stay at this campground again. Now there are 4 sites without power. 90 degree heat. Beware!!!! Camp host picked up cigarette butts at my request.

I came to the area to visit my brother who lives in Mt. Juliet. This park was a few miles from him and I am very impressed! There are 3 loops with area 2 &3 being a bit older and somewhat dated. I stayed in site 58 and it was a little tight for my 20 ft RV but not bad. Concrete table and a fire ring/pit and a BBQ raised grill. The park is well maintained and clean. Lots to do here: Trails, a large pool/swimming area that was closed in March '19. A horse stable if you are so inclined. Rates for March was 25$ but they offer a Senior discount of 25% which makes this very affordable. Small gift shop/supplies store offering your typical fare. Area 3 is newer with paved sites.. Area 1 is across the road and offers pull-through sites also mostly paved. That area was a little "tight" with close proximity to the adjacent sites. Area 3 is my favorite with some paved sites but more room between. The BEST thing here are the BATH HOUSES! They are NEW and very clean. The small private shower rooms that are HEATED are a bonus. Overall this is a great Camping area. I would highly recommend it. If visiting Nashville this is an amazing place to have as ytour base camp!

Another great TN State Park. They are in the process of renovating the camping areas. So, the asphalt was a little rough and needs to be redone. But it's not bad. We stayed in camp #1 site #42 which was nice, because you have some privacy away from the pull through sites. Camps #2 and #3 are loops. They already upgraded with new fire rings and living area borders.
There is a lot to do here. There's a really cool nature center. There are caves and cedar glades and some other really unique things to explore and learn about. We hiked most of the trails. There are lots of sink holes and rocks. There are horse rides in the summer. There is a really large pool. They have a frisbee golf course. Something for everyone.
The rangers are nice. They are also present and accessible. The camp store is pretty good. They don't have a lot of stuff, but the park is very close to what you might need to fix any problem.
We will come back.

Very nice paved, wooded sites. We had one of the 2 sites with sewer hook up but instead of it being in the ground, it was elevated 3 feet higher than our sewer/grey water valves so it was totally worthless. We used the dump station. Bath houses were okay, but poor water pressure. Separate bathrooms for men & women but showers were shared. Strange!
