The location is great. The sites are big. The staff is formal and not so nice. There is addition 10$ registration fee.

Nicely located, but little comfort

Well located by South Lake Tahoe - 100 feet from Lake. Very primitive though - a "park rebuilt". Lots of shade, restrooms are very, very poor and not up to standards.
No WIFI (public) - we had 3 different sites but unsuccessful.
Dry dock, 26$ and 40$ with electricity.

Great campground! Right across from the lake with stairs to access the beach and lake. The campsites are very large, nestled in among the tall pine trees. The staff are very nice, welcoming, and helpful. We liked it so nuch we extended our stay despite having to switch sites!

Nice Area
By user-4758611... on 2017-10-23.
Very nice area. Location has a lot to offer both within walking distance and a short drive. Some road noise if parked closer to the lake which is across the street from on the camp and offers a beautiful view. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there aren't any full hookups available but they do offer water and electricity and there is a dump station near the gate which is free. They offer dumping at your site on Tue thru Fri for a $10 fee. Bathrooms aren't bad and offer a hot shower. I gave it four stars for a state run park. My site cost was $42 per night with water, electricity and one dog. I have attached some pictures of the area. We will go back.

Rustic

City run park staff were very friendly and area is clean. Restrooms are not great. Spaces have ample room for 30 ft motor home. Bit of noise from hi way 50 traffic but not bad. 3 sections each with differ level of hookup. Place down the road will charge twice as much for full hookups.

Incredible park! Extremely friendly and helpul staff. Clean facilities, right across the street from the lake. Large sites. Great for kids with a large playground, lots of space to ride bikes, an ice rink. Ice Cream and burger shops within walking and biking distance. Short Uber ride to Casinos. Perfect for a family vacation with plenty for all ages and interests! Loved it so much we stayed an extra night despit having to move from an RV site to a tent site! Had to move because it was all booked, no shock as to why!

Nice place

We've stayed here a few times. Limited spaces with electric and water hookups. Nice, large shaded spaces. Across the street from America's most beautiful lake.

What a cool spot - with some minuses.
By user-5866505... on 2017-10-23.
This spot is really great. Nestled between giant trees. Huge spots - have never had such a big spot before. Literally right across from the lake. Doesn't get any closer than this. On the downside, restrooms are aging, but cared for. Wifi is not functional - too weak to use. Price is crazy high, but you're paying for the amazing location. Also, if you don't have a reservation (we didn't), then you can pick any spot that isn't marked 'reserved', but you have to track down the camp host the next day to find out if you have to move...would be great for the price if we were given some insight in to what was reserved before we parked and settled in, but I'm ok with it.
Other reviews are accurate - don't come here without an extension cord and 30 ft of hose, or be prepared to park the wrong way in the spot - the hookups are awkwardly placed.
Noise from the street is obvious, but the 50 runs around the lakeside, so it's a tradeoff for the amazing location. This is also a 15 minute walk to Safeway, some shops, and a nice 45 minute walk in to town. You can grab a bus or a cab from the road to head in to town or casinos.
Any of the downsides are fully offset by the spaces and the location - stay here!

Shady spot near the lake
By user-5528766... on 2017-10-23.
Super nice campground hosts greeted us when we arrived. Lots of shade and walking distance to the lake. Showers were the worst I have ever seen at any park so be prepared.

Lots of trees!!! Great place for families, short bike ride into town
By user-5515188... on 2017-10-23.
Loved this campground. Lots of trees for shade. We stayed 3 nights and although it was packed it was fun. Lots of families camping, felt very safe. The campground is right across from the lake, however you do have to cross a busy road. Short bike ride with bike paths to shopping and places to eat. Would stay again!!

O.k. If checking out area and leaving
By user-5853674... on 2017-10-23.
No privacy, only SOME site have electric or water, dirty sites, I can hear everyone's conversations as well as traffic from 50. $43.00 for one night NO Hookups is outrageous for this place. Highlight is you can walk to shops/restraints and beach

Beautiful site
By user-4676488... on 2017-10-23.
Stayed 2014-09-19 to 2014-09-20
We stayed here 2 nights. We were close to the road with a bit of noise but the space was huge and a beautiful view. Just water and electric hook ups with a fire pit and metal BBQ. There is a dump station on the way out for no charge.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The first spot we were in was small and no way we could get level but we changed to one huge and level close to the road.
We did not have a tow at the time so we walked to the corner and caught the bus to the casino for dinner. The bus driver remembered us on the way back and dropped us off across the highway from our space. As I forgot our flashlight we had a walk back in the dark. We stuck to the road so we would not fall over the fire pit in the dark.
We will come here again. The Manoff Family

Ok to be near of the lake
By user-5824905... on 2017-10-23.
Sites with hookups are in fact electric sites. You need a long extention water pipe and a two way spliter to share a point of water with neighbors. Price 41$/night and 10$ reservation extra fee (event if you dont make reservation online?!?!)
Dirty restrooms and near of the road.
But acces to the lake by foot.
By user-5899035... on 2017-10-23.
Spaces are hard to back into due to trees. On this web site it was 24 dollars but after they added up all the extra charges it came to 40 dollars. It's an OK park

This is a MUST for our family every year. You have to book early (frustrating at times) but we just love it.

Campground is nice, lots of trees and big spaces, easy to manuver. Close to all the stores and restaurants in South Lake Tahoe. Bathrooms were dirty and messy with wet floors and no supplies. Busy on a holiday weekend but still a decent spot with exception of the bathrooms

Nice area for the campground
By user-6407533... on 2019-08-09.
Awkward layout for some sites. Water and electric hook-ups backwards on some sites. A-Loop.

Way too expensive...
By user-6108889... on 2019-08-09.
It is outrageous what they charge for this campground. The showers and toilets are a joke.. (at least they are being renovated in fall)
We had a spot with shared water which was useless since the water was on the neighbours site^^
They claim to have WiFi in their FAQ's but they sent us over to the library and were very annoyed by us asking. There is a signal on some placed in the campground but nothing official.
Here you simply pay for the location and nothing more.
