| Convenient and fun for a one night stay.

Full hook up pull thru sites had been damaged by the rain.... Difficult to level... We had to change to another site as ours was too badly damaged. Nice and clean... We would stay again. Convenient and fun for a one night stay.... Loved the Ghost town and its history. We also ate at Peggy Sue's dinner.

This place was worth the stay just to see the ghost town. Enjoyed our stay. Just wish the restrooms had free showers. $2.00 for 6 minutes!

We were here close to Christmas so park was quite deserted. We had a small problem checking in but they quickly resolved it. Spaces are NOT level by any means.
| Nice visit

Entering the park is without fuss. I mentioned to the young lady at the gate that I had a reservation and she told me where to go without checking my reservation. Security patrols went by until at least 1:00am (that's as late as we stood up one night). The gate isn't manned at night and several guests arrived confused about where to pay for their night's stay. We were there in the middle of June and the temperature was in the 100's. The sewer in some spots was a foot above ground and the threads on our sewer hookup were long gone. Dumping was a two man job to make sure you didn't have any spillage. The sites were not very level, bring at least 3"- 4" of leveling blocks. There are plenty of hiking trails. Lots to see but beware of the caves that might be dangerous. The ghost town is very nice. Plenty to do for a few days in town. There are plenty of stores and places to eat at in the ghost town. The town is pet friendly except for places that serve food (health department regulations). The prices were in line with many tourist spots. There were many people from around the world visiting while we were there.

Nice place to stop for the night 3 miles from the highway makes it convenient. No road noise. If you have off road vehicles they have many trails through the mines canyon. 40.00 for full hook up though its a little expensive you get into the ghost town for free. (8.00 p/person savings)Showers are 1.00 for 6 minutes. Restroom is decent and private. We pulled in and picked our own spot. Ranger came around 6 to collect fees.

This place was terrible. Told me to go to my spot, some one was on it. Had to complain at 3 PM because they were not moving. Started chewing me out because of my complaining. They were maybe 5 per cent full. They have no idea who is where. Ghost town is really a rip off. Go on the train ride, they point out stacks of painted white rocks like they were something. Really funny! By the way, I booked by phone and asked about discounts, wad told there were none. I guess you have to know someone to get senior discount. PS: Ranger was really nice!

I spent a night here and I loved it. Now, I don't know how it is in the summer because I didn't see shady sites but in February, it was awesome. The ghost town is a whole day family fun, the area also have trails for biking and hiking.... I would come back but probably not in the summer.
| Nice and simple campground

This is a county operated campground. Sites with full hook ups, some with just shorepower and others with nothing more than a table. U pick what u need. Stayed for one night in April 2017 in our truck camper. Stayed in the upper part of "e" loop. Had the place to ourselves. Showers/toilets look new. They were clean and shower was free and water was hot. Ghost town was a bonus.

We stayed here in February and were 2 of only around 20 guests in the rv park. Calico ghost town itself was very calm, too. This brought us a very personalized experience because we could visit all of the highlights except the train in a "group" of just the two of us. Most of the staff were absolutely nice and sweet people and I instantly took the Sheriff L.T. into my heart. Referring to a review I read before coming to calico ghost town. There were no nightly races or people driving/ riding their motorcycle through the Rv park. Just the opposite: a park ranger drove through the park in the evening and asked us if we were fine and felt save and if everything was OK. I felt really cared for and we had no negative experiences in calico.

We decided to stay at the calico ghost town RV park because the local KOA campground was situated right on Highway 15 (very noisy). We arrived at the campground at 2:30 PM on May 21, 2015. The gal at the entrance told us to drive into the campground and find a space in either A or B section. There were only two other RVs camped there and we found a wonderful pull thru Space number A23. After setting up we found a very close trail that took us right into the calico ghost town where we spent the day shopping taking pictures and looking at all the beautiful scenery of the area. The fee for our camping spot with the senior discount was $30 for full hookups. When you camp at the campground you do not have to pay an entrance fee for the ghost town which saved us a total of $16. The campground restrooms were very nice and clean and the campground was very quiet at night. There are lots of places to take hikes in the area. We met some very nice people along the way.
| Terrible experience

We arrived on Thursday morning without reservations and were told by the gate booth attendant just to go search loops A & B (full hook-up sites) and find one without a white tag and pull in. The ranger would be by around 6:00pm to collect fees. Well, there were no sites without a white tag, so we assumed they were fully booked. Not so! There were many sites reserved for the weekend, but were available for Thursday & Friday nights. Some sites had white tags showing the campers left 3 day prior, and were not reserved at all. Thus, we pulled into an available site and got fully leveled and all utilities hooked up. Since we had been dry camping for a couple of days, I needed to dump the gray tank. Everything worked until I went around our Motorhome to go inside. When my gray water hit the sewer system, it caused the cap on the sewer connection in the next site to blow off and sewage erupted into both our site and the adjoining one. And I mean RAW SEWAGE!! And the flies were terrible. We immediately packed up and left, which is a shame because we really wanted to see the ghost town. Shame on San Bernardino County for running such a park.

We stayed one night in the power only loop. 30.00 seniors rate. The site was gravel and quite level. I would not want to be here in the summer, I can only imagine the heat. The ghost town was a bonus, included in the price of the Site. It was a bit commercial though.

Lots of dirt but what do you expect in the high desert. Nice campgrounds a little tight in some spots. Bathrooms are very clean and nice. Just a little walk to restaurant if you don't feel like cooking. Food was good, free peanuts, prices reasonable, good service. Dog friendly they have water bowls for dogs around the Ghost town. We enjoyed ourselves. Admission to park included with camping fees

Full hookups with non coin operated showers for $40 is a pretty good rate for California. The nearby ghost town/tourist trap is underwhelming.

Great place to stay for a quick stop and overnight. Very quiet and a lot available spaces. Clean and secluded.

We stopped for the night on Xmas eve. The ghost town was pretty empty and had a skeleton crew... LOL. Only a few campers so we had the run of the place. Sites were pretty level. Park ranger was no help if you didn t know your way around or kmow your campsite # offhand. Would come again during the spring.

When we first pulled in, it was a bit scary in that there was no one else here and you are pretty far off the beaten path. But as the afternoon progressed, many others started showing up. Decent place, and the sunset was very nice and when we met the Park Ranger he was very nice too! All and all, it was very nice and we enjoyed our stay!
