Plenty of water activities on the river. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff.
Booked this family camping trip a month ago. Reserved a water front spot, lady even disscribed it to me. When I arrived, no one at the gate. Girl in the office gave me my lot number and pointed in direction of lot. No map, no info. Imagine my surprise when I pulled up and I am not on water, in fact I am out in the middle in the wide open. So back to office I went, only to be told, "oh must have been new girl that made the mistake". And that was it. The next day I called main office and was given inter tube to float down river. And was told we had to figure out how to get up river to put in. Soooo, such a pretty place on river. Sad the management/owners are not attentative. Very disappointed. Will I sty again? I drove 3hrs, don't want to take the chance and get wrong spot again. Clean bath house tho!
Nice campground close to a cute small town. No grocery store in town but good local food joints. Good location for visiting Harper's Ferry. To get to the campground you cross 2 RR tracks, then turn left to follow a bumpy dirt road for a decent distance. Highly recommend the bike trail near the campground entrance. The river was nice - we caught a few fish. We enjoyed the volleyball court. Mixture of open and wooded sites. Good Wifi. Very friendly folks. One of our favorite campgrounds!
