This is a beautiful park right along the beach. The sites were fairly level and a decent size. Utilities worked well. Amazing to see wild horses walking amongst RVs! Unique experience.
Stayed 7 nights at Assateague State Park. Doing without full hook-ups was well worth the sacrifice. We had 30 amp equipped site with no water or sewer, but could hear the ocean roar just over the dune. The park is within close proximity to Ocean City, Maryland. It is now a favorite!
There aren't very many campgrounds where you can camp right on the doing to the beach, and be surrounded by wild horses. Assateague Island is one of those places. If you don't go to this place you're missing out on the experience of a lifetime. There is only one loop with electrical hook up, all the others you are dry camping. But they do have a dump station, potable water and bathhouses.A very small price to pay for this location. It books up 12 months in advance so make your reservations now for next year!
