All time favorite (part 2)
By user-803001 on 2017-10-23.
Still learning this ap and not sure how to edit my prior review. This way I can average the 2 and give it 4.5 stars.
Beach is huge and always feels empty. Campground is almost always full. Reservations really are necessary. Sites are secluded in the dunes with lots of vegetation. Almost all are great for tent camping. Our pop-up would not fit everywhere, though, and I expect big RVs may have issues.
While you are there, stop in at Island Joe's for a hamburger, fish tacos, and free wifi.
Showers are very clean. Coin op laundry on site. Sea kayaks can be rented.

Very Pleaent

Stayed 2 nights with my wife and 2 dogs. 30 per night out the door. Clean, quiet, and beautiful. On the beach within 2 miles of the fort and historical district. A must for St Augustine.

Beautiful place
By user-5883140... on 2017-10-23.
Sites are separated with greenery for some privacy, sits shaded and level, clean bathrooms with hot showers... That is what we look for. A nice beach, playground for the kids, and I think boat access too. Just three miles from downtown St. Augustine it is a great place to stay. We bought trolley tickets which comes with free parking. A wise choice we found....

Perfect

Awesome State Park!
Separately spaces in the forest. Clean restrooms and friendly Staff. Cheap, too. Got a place just stopping there. Very nice beach and wildlife (Racoons, Pelicans, Turtles). But don't try to find a way round the peninsula! There is no way (and no sign) ;).

Perfection!
By user-5841985... on 2017-10-23.
Wow! Not only is the park well maintained and the bathrooms spotless, but the camp sites are all covered by trees which gives privacy. We stayed in site 84 with our 19' travel trailer and we had tons of room! The raccoons are sneaky and will try to steal anything you leave outside so be careful. Cheap price. You won't get wifi or laundry but it's still worth it. Would highly recommend this park and will definitely stay again if in the area.

Le parc est magnifique, les emplacements sont relativement grands et intimistes ! Douches et toilettes très propres! Proche de la plage.
C'était parfait!!

Beautiful Park!

This is a large park that is spread out over a big peninsula. Our site was a bit difficult to back into with our 21' trailer, but once we were in, it was very nice and private. We enjoyed biking through the park and out to the pristine beach. Bring bug repellent--I think I was attacked by no-see-ems. Get reservations!

Super nice environment for dogs. They are not allowed at the beach but you can go at St-Augustine beach just near by with your dog.

Long strip of ocean beach
Clean and well maintained. Staff friendly and always available Ranger Amy is the best. Wildlife abounds. Tortoises are "Wild life crossing" slowly. Easy flat sites with shade and privacy. Easy parking. Close to entertainments and St Augustine.

Laid Back and Easy

Nice park with shady sites that provide privacy. Friendly and helpful rangers and staff. Nice bathrooms. We asked for a site closer to the beach and were assigned #111. Had trouble with the power. They sent someone out right away who found the box fried when he opened it up. He immediately called the office and we were re-assigned to #118. Would stay again when in the area.

This was one of the nicest state parks we ve every been to. It is a little rustic for a campground, but that is part of the charm. We saw large turtles on a regular daily basis. Plenty of wildlife all around. The staff was super friendly and helpful and I would return in a heartbeat. Very close to any tourist destinations in old St Augustine.
